As the title suggests, these craft projects all start with one basic supply: mason jars. If you don’t have any on hand, check out local yard sales, thrift stores, or a for sale (buy for nothing) Facebook group. At the very least, you can always pick up a bulk of them from the store.

MASON JARS MAKE PERFECT SPRING CRAFTS!

I love the versatility of crafting with mason jars. There are so many things you can do with them from painting and embellishing to filling them with flowers or using them to hold household objects.

Glass jars are a staple in any craft stash, so get crafty with mason jars this spring and put them to work as small vases, candle holders, and more.

SHOULD YOU USE A CERTAIN BRAND OF MASON JAR?

The best mason jars overall are said the be the Ball Mason jars. They take the top of the charts because they are often made with the best quality, which is important if they are being used for canning or other kitchen creations.

Next in line are smooth jars (typically made by Anchor Hocking) and wide-mouth jars. These also work perfectly for crafting for many reasons.

I’ve used Ball Mason’s for making an easy DIY herb garden and smooth jars for making these nautical stripe-painted jars. Really, it’s a matter of personal preference. Heck – I’ve even upcycled pickle and salsa jars!
